Step by step on how to implement modem port reset on MTX-CRN-8 hardware 
running Windows 2008/2012 server OS

New Exar USB driver for the virtual COM ports must be installed
       


Window tool / utility to perform individual port reset
        
MODEMRST.EXE


YOU MUST disable PnP on ALL modems before installing the new driver.   
-	Use some terminal software and connect to EACH com port / modem and issue commands 
AT$P0 and AT&W


Update USB virtual com port driver in Windows Device Manager
-	Right click on EACH of the virtual com port (COM3 to COM10) and select update driver software, 
browser the computer and point to above driver (unzip first) 

-	After driver updated for ALL the com ports, check EACH virtual com port and make sure the 
Driver provider is Exar Corporation and Driver date is 11/18/2014 and Driver Version is 
2.2.0.0


How to perform individual port modem reset
-	Run the MODEMRST.EXE tool/utility 
-	Enter/Select the COM port you want to perform modem port reset and click Connect button.   Make 
sure no application is communicate with the same com port.
-	Click Modem Reset button
-       Click Close button to quit/exit program
